Congrats on your little one :-) I am not sure what your OB is referring to, but I have definitely not heard anything like that in all the years I've been on this site. Other than some extra pressure on the pouch, more frequent bathroom trips, and possible scar tissue discomfort, a pregnancy with a J-pouch shouldn't really differ from a woman with a colon. A higher percentage of women will opt for C-sections with a j-pouch vs. a non-poucher, which may be what your OB is referring to. If you choose a C-section, your OB might want you to deliver a few days early in order to avoid going into labor, but that's all I could think of. Personally, we did deliver my guy 10 days early in order to facilitate an easier vaginal birth with less risk for tearing.
