Hello Everyone,
I have been reading through quite a few posts here and am seeing some similarities with others looking for answers.

Before I go further, thank you all for sharing your experiences, troubles and advice, I have gained from your support and words and am grateful.

I like samlC25 am exhausted all the time. (so sorry samlc25!)The difference being that all my vitamin and mineral levels etc are supposedly "fine".
Have checked iron, b's, D's (deficient but take supplements), adrenals, thyroid, hormones (i think), all are within normal ranges.

I have a j-pouch and have had frequent bouts of pouchitis.
In 2011 I went back on prednisone in an attempt to quell it.
At first things went well, then the side effects from the prednisone became worse than its healing.
Everytime I tried to get off the prednisone the pouchitis would flare up again and I would suffer from the pouchitis as well as the side effects. Arrg.
I was finally able to get off the prednisone, had my adrenals checked and supposedly all was fine.

That was 8 months ago and ever since i have had no energy.
I also used to be cold all the time and now am hot all the time since being off.
Lastly not sleeping. I have tried all sorts of sleep aides, drugs just make me crazy or ill, Tylenol pm gives me at least 3 hrs worst case and more most of time.
(have tried just the Diphenhydramine HCI and doesn't work)

I have been to doctors, homeopaths, natropaths, chiropractors that put me on lots of all natural supplements, to no avail.

I have an apt. with my gastro on the 15th and am hoping he may have some answers.
Last time I was there he wanted to put me on remicade since nothing else had worked.
I was trying to avoid that but at this point my quality of life with no energy is too low to be tolerable.

I know compared to others I have much to be thankful for.
To those of you suffering I send my support .
To anyone with advice or similar experience i will be very grateful.
Thank you!

I am so sorry Burly,
It sounds like things are not going well at all for you...it may just be a number of different things going on and not just one catch-all problem...the prednisone can be responsible for the sleeplessness, anxiety, stress, the cold/hot etc, the pouchitis for the exhaustion, the chills, cramps etc...and these could all be a sign of infection as well...it is not a this or that situation but maybe a this and that...have you seen an endocrinologist? If your blood levels are good, your iron etc are stable then you need to check out the rest of the system...
I hope that someone can coordinate the efforts and come to a useful conclusion that can finally bring an end to all of this and give you back your life...
Good luck
Sharon
