Excision of jpouch because of squamous cell cancer

My 21 years old jpouch started having problems with emptying since one year and half ago when I was given medina catheters and AquaFlush pump to help. These tools did help and kept pouchitis at bay ever since. On MRIs and CT scans eventually this October doctors discovered a slow growing tumour in the anus aerea which has spread a bit in the pelvis and that was probably the reason why I could not empty the jpouch properly. Apparently quite rare to get this!!!!

I am soon starting radio/chemio and eventually I will have an operation to remove the jpouch and affected area by the tumour. My question is how difficult is the recovery from the excision of the jpouch? Can someone who had this operation tell me?
