I’ve been asked by my second-opinion surgeon to have an EUA pouchoscopy. Does anyone know what that means (the EUA bit)?

Also, I’m worried because the last time I had a pouchoscopy, in 2014, the bowel prep left me in a horrible state. And I am much weaker now, plus I have a fainting disorder. At the time, my original surgeon said that the prep was too much for me and that he wouldn’t ask me to do it again. I didn’t ask him exactly what that meant for future checkups though.

Oh, just found out it is “examination under anaesthesia”, so answered that bit.

My other problem is that the hospital is so snowed under that the second-opinion surgeon doesn’t have my records yet.

When we phone to try to sort it out, the lines are all busy and we just get cut off. I was thinking that the hospital is under so much stress that I am better to postpone the whole second-opinion thing, but then I started to get urinary incontinence from the distended j-pouch pressing on my bladder, so now there is a sense of urgency. (Did not mean that to be a pun, but it is!)
