Did this bloating start immediately after your end ileostomy was formed, or was there a delay (and how long)? An ostomy can sometimes empty poorly, and sometimes adhesions that form after surgery can cause things to be blocked up a bit. In either of these cases the J-pouch surgery might improve things, particularly if any problematic adhesions are lysed during the surgery. The surgeon needs to be aware of the problem.
