My Indy gastro thinks should see a dr at Cleveland clinic because they offer more for those with pouch difficulties. Does anyone / has anyone gone to Ccmain campus lately ( within last year) and dan recommend drs? I know many named here have left but such a great program sure,y has some new stellar docs. Thanks much! Ljz

Is your doctor suggesting that you see a CC gastroenterologist or a colorectal surgeon?
Are you willing to travel outside your state???
To think she wants me to see gastro and surgeon. She thinks because of the various complications I have being with a team there would be helpful. She also mentioned a surgeon that was there that left so she did not know who to recommend. It is suspected I have a prolapse. There is a good colorectal surgeon here in Indy, but think she thinks I need larger better equipped pouch team for all the various issues. This surgeon put in a Medtronic interstim device May 2023. Seems to help some but there are some pelvic floor muscle issues, nerve issues and prolapse she thinks from pouchoscopy. I’m not able to evacuate easily, have high frequency which has led to deterioration of skin around anus and many ulcerations. She’s only been my GI for 1.5 years when I moved here. Definitely will consider out of state to solve problem. Thanks for any input!

There is a IBD clinic in Florida at USF and the gastro's name is Jennifer Seminaro, she specializes in J-pouch issues. She is moving from Tampa, Florida to Orlando, Florida. Her number is 813) 259-0929

The best doctor for a difficult pouch is Dr Remzi on Long Island NY. He used to be at the Cleveland clinic. Left there for NYU in Manhattan and has recently joined Northwell on Long Island. He does see patients at Lenex Hill in Manhattan. We just saw Dr Bosworth at NYU and kind of go the low down on Dr Remzi’s where about these days. Dr Remzi did my son’s second j-pouch a few years ago at NYU. He is an amazing surgeon and person. His goal these days is to teach others what he does. He is by far, the best with pouches, pushing the limits that others will not do. My son is 33 years old and has gone through hell with his Gastro issues. And if it was for Dr Remzi would have had a percent Ostomy by this time. So we are eternally grateful for Dr Remzi.

Thank you Lauren and Jeff’s Mom! I have heard of Dr. Remzi and how wonderful he is. I will consider those names you’ve provided if no one at CC, but possibly a virtual visit to get things started. I will do anything and everything also to avoid an ostomy. Thanks! Much appreciate your feedback!
