I've read many stories on here that Dr. Shen at Cleveland Clinic is very dedicated to saving the J-Pouch and that he is good at exhausting every option - including injections to speed up healing, suppositories, and many other things. I was wondering - does he have similar ideas to salvage the colon? Has anyone experienced that he saved their colon?
My story is that I initially had pancolits. I took Vedolizumab, a trial med, and it has cleared in my inflammation in the colon, except for the rectum and rectosigmoid. I have tried almost everything and nothing seems to work in this area. It is frustrating to think that I would have to remove the entire colon when there is such small area of inflammation left. For those who have went to see Dr. Shen, do you think some of his ideas and techniques could help me get this last part under control? I would be very open to try something new including some of these injections that speed up healing that I have read on someone's post.
Thanks!
