Pouch, I said that may have heard, nit that he was.  Please don't get this rumor started!  I thought I heard something, but I believe it's just a rumor.  If I find out more, I will let everyone know.

If it wasn't true his office would have just said so, but since they said they cannot discuss it at this time, means something is up. where theres smoke theres fire.

Well I called last week to make an appointment and they told me that he was now 'in charge' of his own schedule and that he's pushing patients over to his assistant Dr. Ashburn. Not sure exactly what that means but I wasn't able to make an appointment with him. 

That's weird.  Wonder what that means? I hope Shen isn't going anywhere too

It was mentioned, in some ones post so many years ago. It was one of her surgical  doctors at Cleveland and I'm almost sure that was the name, I could have the name wrong.

I think that was probably Dr. Fazio, who died last year.

Dr Shen emailed me and stated he was not going anywhere and that nobody else wants him. Lol. I love that guy. 

Yes I'm sure his schedule is just booked. 

The shakeup at CCF continues, I just learned that Shen's nurse Geeta has moved to a different dept.  that sucks, I liked her. Still wish I knew what was up with Remzi..

He is leaving. very sad about this.

How were you informed Poucho?

I'm very sorry to hear this. I just had surgery with Dr. Remzi on April 4 to reverse back to the ostomy bag. I'm scheduled to go back next Wed., July 6 to see his nurse and the ostomy nurses. His nurse and secretary didn't say anything when I spoke to them yesterday. I don't know if it's worth traveling back there if he's not going to be there anymore.

Nancy, it is worth it to go back.  There are many fine surgeons there.  

Also so since it is getting out there, yes Dr. Remzi is leaving CC.  He is coming to NY to NYU.  They are building a world class IBD department.  Dr. Bosworth from Weill Cornell has already transferred over there.  I'm not sure when he will be starting but I believe it will be sometime in the fall.  This I heard from my current surgeon in NY.  Sorry folks, I wasn't sure if it was a fact and I was testing the waters.  But since the cat is out of the bag, this is what I now know as fact.  Sorry for you folks n the mid-west but I'm so happy I don't have to go to Cleveland!  They must be paying Remzi a fortune to go out to NY.  He has been in Cleveland forever.  Hope he loves NY!

I am not happy about this. Who will be the head honcho at the Clinic now? I hear Dr Ashburn is very good?

No clue as to what will be going on our there.  But he will be creating a world class program in NY.  I just hope I can get Jeffrey in to see him before he has another surgery.  Will find out on July 13th I think as to what the next steps will be.  I'm worn out, I have no idea how all of you deal all that you do.  You are all so amazing to me.

Does anyone know if he will continue to see his patients in NYC? I'm doing the three step surgery with him and I don't think I would even had consider surgery if it wasn't done by him. I'm due for my next surgery next month. Very worried.. 

I'm going to call his office on Tues. and see what I can find out since I'm scheduled for a post op office visit with his nurse and the ostomy nurses. I wish I had known all of this before I spoke to his nurse last Thursday. I was supposed to have surgery in 6-8 months with him to either rebuild my jpouch or remove it. I can't go to NY and doubt my insurance would cover it. I agree with everyone-it's upsetting.

I dont know anything about his ladt day. I only know he will be starting in the fall. During that time, he most likely will be moving, setting up his team, all that kund of stuff. No one in NY is sayingva thing yet.

Ann Feldman, I never met her but had spoken to her on phone 3 times and I found her also to be just great and asked many questions to what was going on with me and followed up immediately with meds, etc.  I go tomorrow to see Dr. Ashburn for my yearly follow up from surgery last yr.  Sure do hope we don't loose our docs at CCF and wouldn't even know what I would do.

Dr Shen told me he is not going anywhere...Geeta I just found out last week that she is no longer Shens nurse so that was upsetting..  I have also heard great things about Dr Ashburn, and I think she trained under Remzi so she must be good.

Where in NY is Remzi going? Sorry if I missed this in the posts!!

Wow this news has just tainted my day. As one of Remzi's "problem children" I cannot fathom not having him two hours away. I highly likely have a massive surgery for adhesions in the near future due to constant blockages and all my docs and I agree say Remzi is the only one for this.... wow...I am kind of freaked out about this.

Also Dr. Charles took care of me some of the time during my last inpatient earlier this year. It was the first time I met him or heard of him despite my frequent flyer miles there!  He was referred to as "Remzi's partner". HAve any of you met him? He seemed nice. But he didn't operate on me..... just was rounding when Remzi wasn't there.

Dr Charles assisted with my takedown in March. He seemed nice but I don't know anything about him. And I have a small hernia at the closure site now , not sure if he closed it though.

Just heard he is leaving next week. Also some others are going. Anyone know who those may be? Wondering what our selection will be left with

I was told july 12th

Did Dr. Remzi office send letters to his patients notifying them of this change? 

FYI - Dr. Dietz is leaving clinic as of August 5th - he will be going to UH starting August 28th.  Dr. Ashburn will be taking his K-Pouch clients.  

Whats UH, university of hawaii?  

Nevermind i figured it out. Houston. Much better that university of hawaii!  Although, personally Id rather be in Hawaii!
