I’ve been struggling for many weeks now with pain and burning around my tailbone. It feels internal and not like typical butt burn. The Dr prescribed 2 weeks of flagyl and it seemed to clear up. Within days of going off, the symptoms came back but with even more pain. They scoped me 2 weeks ago and they saw very little inflammation in the cuff. They restarted flagyl. That’s been two weeks and the pain is more every day. I can barely sit or stand. It’s a burning and aching with spasms. Now it’s aching even into my female region.  I have a history of fissures and hemmroids and this seems completely different.

It is possible to have an abscess with no fever? The only relief comes in a hot bath or lying on my side.

Is this a wait it out symptom or get somewhere quickly?

thank you!

If you ever find yourself straining—stop. With me, I felt like if I just pushed a little harder I’d have this huge release and satisfaction. But then the BM would stop mid-stream without that release and muscle was strained. As a result, I would have a much worse pain/burning than any butt burn. Pain and recovery could take a week depending on how hard I strained, even involuntarily. Bottom line, Pelvic floor therapy is teaching me how to poop again.
