I had my surgery nearly 5 years ago now. I have never had many problems untill recently. I have been losing control of my pouch every night, taken loperamide(no difference), feeling sick, occasional stabbing pains in my stomach and a slight temp. I went to see my GP today but he just gave me codine and offered no other support. Is this something serious? Do I need to seek other medical attention? I have never suffered with anything like this before and it's really worrying me. Any advice?

This sounds like pouchitis to me. It's generally very easy to treat with 10-14 days of Cipro or Flagyl. If that diagnosis is correct then relief tends to come surprisingly quickly, within a couple of days. The use of codeine under these circumstances suggests a GP who has no idea what pouchitis is. There's an article posted at the top of the "Pouchitis" Forum on this site that might be worth printing out for your GP, if you'll be depending on him for care in the future.
