I just recently had my Ostomy take-down surgery and so I’m finally using my J pouch. I get dizzy after almost every meal and super lightheaded and weak... it almost feels like I didn’t even eat. I’m wondering if I need to cut back on gluten? Or anything else... has anyone had an allergy or something like that pop up after starting to use the J pouch? My sister got Celiac after a major stressor in her life so I’m hoping I don’t have a food allergy. Can anyone relate or have input?

The most common cause of this would be dehydration. You need to be getting enough fluid to cause you to pee a few times a day, and the urine should be light-colored.
When we eat our blood shifts somewhat to the gut, which is fine unless our blood volume is low.
My husband has a banana in the morning and drinks alot of water during the day. That helps stave off dehydration..
I’m not dehydrated because I have labs drawn all the time and I drink more water than anyone I know. I appreciate the feedback though. I will probably go to my doctor.
You maybe low on iron or potassium. Try eating 4 raw bananas a day for a week. And include red meats, spinach (steamed) , beetroot in soups or whichever way you feel best. Iron deficiency is one of the reasons we feel lightheaded after a meal or sitting for too long at a place and getting up.
If you follow Raj advice, dont forget that beetroot can look like blood in the toilet bowl. Panics me every time lol. Seriously though, if your drinking a LOT of water, you may be flushing all of your salts, of which potassium is only one.
Maybe your drinking too much water?
You should be peeing no less than 3 times per day and your pee should be pale yellow, apprantly the colour of straw.
Peeing more than 3 times per day, isn't an issue as long has its colour is consistent.
If your pee is clear, then maybe you are drinking too much fluids and you're flushing your system of electrolytes.
Thank you! I’ll try balancing out my water intake
