I had another dilation(under sedation) this past Friday, which is my 3rd dilation since my takedown.  The GI told me that he had to dilate the same location twice (bottom of the pouch twice) while I was under this past Friday. He dilated it, reexamined and dilated it a 2nd time.

I've been having more difficulty emptying the past 4 days then before the dilation.  Has this happened to anyone else after a dilation?

My GI is on vacation this week, I was his last procedure before he went on vacation.

yes  I also have been dilated 4 times..  Sometimes it is irritation from the dilation that feels that you have the same symptoms.  It took me about a week when things started getting better but also sometimes you have to sit there for awhile and relax and things come out a little better.  hope you are feeling better and make sure you drink a lot water and chew your food very well.      Grace

Thanks Grace.

I forgot to mention that I have (2) ulcers near the bottom of my pouch and I have some burning pain now when emptying so I'm guessing it is the irritation that you mentioning....or at least I'm hoping it is that.

I recently tapered off of entocort about 2 weeks ago.  Maybe the GI will put me back on it when he gets back on Monday. ugh...it messes up my sleep schedule.

Thank you for the replies.  My emptying is getting better since 2 days ago.  I went back to twice a day with flagyl and 1 Entocort in the morning, I'm also using the Calmoseptine ointment pretty liberally and adding Miralax to my coffee.

I was just surprised by the emptying problem after the dilation because my other dilations everything worked so much better afterwards.

My strictures aren't that bad but the GI keeps mentioning this home self-dilation kit, which isn't that appealing to me.  But prepping and going under-sedation for continued dilations isn't fun either.
