I have a 22 yr old j-pouch that is in great shape. So I've been told. This Jan I developed Gastritis. Through diet and Protonix I was improving nicely until Oct. 2 dental extractions and an antibiotic brought me two giant steps backwards. I'm moving forward again with diet and back on Protonix. My GI Dr is recommending I try a Digestive Enzyme and use it conservatively. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I’ve been using Garden of Life digestive enzymes, flax seed oil, organic omega eggs and Redwood goats milk kefir.
I’m doing a lot of new things that are giving great results, so I can’t say for sure that the digestive enzymes and high enzyme foods are a part of the reason. However, I do like that the Garden of Life enzymes are a capsule with powder inside given how quickly things travel through my system. Also, goats milk is key because it’s highly and easily digestible by most people, unlike cow’s milk. I read it digests in 20 minutes, versus cow’s milk which takes hours to digest.
Thank you so much for the info. I'm going to look into those digestive enzymes. I'm already doing the kefir & organic eggs.
I tried digestive enzymes and probiotics 10 min. before each meal with pretty good results, definitely worth a try. It can get expensive, I only stopped because i had some black stool and wasn't sure what was causing it, so im working through a process of elimination.
What did you take for a Digestive Enzyme? I'm trying to figure out the best one for someone with a jpouch.
Thank you for that info. Very much appreciated.
