Hey,

I am about 4 years post takedown. During my first round of pouchitis, my doctor ordered a CT scan to make sure there was no showing of crohn's. The CT scan found "multiple soft tissue nodules in the mesentary in the lower abdomen and pelvis." Has anyone else had this? My doctor said it is most likely scar tissue, but could be cancer, and that is making me freak out. I am only 29, have had colitis since I was 15, and with my pouch am healthy for the first time in my life. I just can't imagine having to deal with cancer now too.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Alana

Your physician sounds like my dermatologist. Everytime I see him to have something checked he tells me what it could be and ALWAYS says, "It could be cancer." At first I panicked. Then, I realized he had to cover his you know what! Of course "it could be" just about anything. I no longer let his statements regarding cancer bother me. You have done all the right things and the odds are probably on your side....it probably isn't cancer. But......even if it is......it sounds as though you have caught things really early....whatever they are......and that is good! I'm sure your doc is planning to "look further" into your situation. Best wishes!
