So I have had a tough ride with my j pouch since my takedown in March. Non stop pouchitis, fissures, hemorrhoids, etc.
I had a scope on November 5th and the biopsies are now showing granulomas and inflammation in my stomach and esophagus. So now my GI is saying that it is very possible I have crohns...I am extremely upset. Any advice would be great. Also did anyone else have granulomas in their biopsies and it end up not being crohns, but only an infection?

I thought my 3 surgeries were supposed to help me and give me a better quality of life. I just want to live my life and be able to go to college Frowner

Hi there,

I understand!! When I was 9, I was really sick- but only in my large intestine, so it was removed, and I have a j-pouch. Then, when I was 29, I started having symptoms in the pouch and my small intestine- now I have a Crohn's diagnosis. I was devastated at first...I thought I was done with this stomach stuff...but my feelings around it have gotten so much better with time. A lot of people have Crohn's and because of that, they are coming up with better treatments and options every day...hang in there, it will get easier, and I'm always if you want to talk. Smiler
