hi everyone always something with my pouch..yesterday started noticing feeling like i needed to go to bathroom..felt hard to relieve and afterward just still felt like not emptied but feeling just very low down in rectum..no diarrhea however..thought it quite different than my issues with bacteria overgrowth..if i did not know i cannot pass very hard bms would think i was..

today mid day i started having serious spasms
and an incredible urge to go to bathroom..hardly made it there and it was brutal..it hurt coming out felt like rocks.. this went on for an hour on and off..i actually reached in to help relieve myself..i literally was shaking afterwards..it finally seemed to stop..like i had gotten everything out! what the heck was going on??i never thought with my pouch i could be constipated ..i never had a blockage what happens with that situation..that is symptoms of either one?maybe combination of foods that just clogged up in my intestines?i will not be surprised if i start having some blood or fissure after that experience..drank a bottle of water and frightened to eat anything tonight..

any ideas on what happened and can someone describe constipation with pouch ,blockage,

Sounds very much like what I experience with a partial obstruction. Well, except for the shaking and extreme urges. Yes, I get urgency and frequency, but not to that extreme. The episodes usually last 1-3 days. There is no common denominator food. Maybe I did not drink enough fluids. I know I tend towards dehydration. (After nearly two decades, who keeps track anymore?)

Basically, I think it is just a temporary kink from the adhesions in there. I always seem to get a crampy feeling in the same spot when these episodes occur. Over time I've just learned to roll with it, by increasing fluids and backing off rough solids until it passes.

thanks jan..i am thinking you are right..some obstruction or blockage ..and i certainly could not put my finger on having eaten anything out of ordinary..the shaking i am describing was more my state of mind thing i guess..and i am also thinking there might have been eliminate of dehydration(like you who keeps track!) and i certainly have some history with dehydration too..like two weeks ago i passed out at home because i took a vicodin and was dehydrated..

i actually thought to do what you suggested after the storm calmed and just drank water and laid off any foods that might be rough solids..

good news today do not have any bleeding and thus no fissure from all that tremor..

Hey Rebecca,
I hope you're feeling better. Just wanted to mention that if you
are still on SCD, that constipation is often a sign of your gut
biome is changing. Many people swing from diarrhea to constipation
and back to diarrhea early on in the diet (meaning first 6 months or so).
This might be contributing to your problem? Maybe along with dehydration.

Mirlax is legal and pretty gentle on the gut if you are still
having issues.

Good luck and feel better!
