So I've been on the Paleo Diet for the last week. One effect is that I'm needing to go much less and also, when I wake up I'm extremely constipated.

1) Does anyone have any recommendations on what to do to battle the morning constipation? It's been a bit painful at times and also has made me late leaving to work.

2) On the other hand, the reduced BM's during the day has been amazing. But I'm also worried...isn't going too little conducive towards pouchitis?

I have that same problem... In the morning it feels like I need to go but I can't.... Then as soon as I'm on the road to work its like I need to go now! Not sure why that is. If I eat anything to help move things along then I am up a few more times at night and the morning is still the same old thing. I found coffee in the morning helps speed things along so I can get it out of the way. I even wake up extra early just to have time to get things moving along now.
