Appreciate any and all input here. 58 y/o in excellent health other than this stuff. I am 40 yrs s/p s-pouch placement, 4 total laparotomies with issues related. Pouch worked pretty good for about 10 yrs but chronic pouchitis and intolerance of antibiotics over time along with cuffitis issues have gotten worse over these many years. So I recently began having to push harder to empty pouch worsening to point I now have prolapse, unable to empty my pouch due to full blockage with pushing to go. The situation is horrible right now with having to lie down to go into a diaper and/or 40 plus trips to toilet a day.
Presented with options to redo to a j-pouch stage procedure 3 months apart or go with permanent ileostomy which doesn't sound so bad after all the years of dysfunction I've had and where I'm at now. I'm interested in any input you all may have in this area. People happy or not with redo procedure? Thank you so much in advance!
