Hi gang!
Sorry, me, yet again (my last ileostomy was in 1991, kind of forgot everything, getting old ya know ), this time, I'm curious as to what you do to conceal your bag while out of the house. Today was my first day out in public with my ileostomy since my surgery on the 4th, and was dumbfounded as to what to do with my dangling bag. For the moment, I'm just tucking the bottom of it into my underwear or my pants, but it still leaves quite the unsightly bulge in my clothes, so, how do you manage to conceal it, or do you even bother? Personally, I'd prefer to hide it, out of sight, out of mind, until it starts farting that is! Lol! I've heard of ileostomy belts you can use to keep the bag close to the body, but have absolutely no idea of where I can buy them here in Toronto. Thankfully, I wear scrubs at work, so upon my return, I need only buy new scrub shirts a size bigger so no one will even notice it. Luckily, my stoma is almost at the same height as my belly button, so I don't have to worry too much about my waist line blocking my stoma, but I just don't want to have to wear shirts so long they look more like a dress then a shirt (except Halloween, but that's a different topic all together!lol!). Any tips? Just curious, thanks, as always, for your invaluable input, it's much appreciated, and I promise I'll try to not keep harassing all of you with so many questions,
Cheers
Eric
Ps - feeling 100% better then I did a week ago. Still nowhere close to being normal yet, but I can now eat without throwing up, and I'm getting a little more energy back, a few more weeks and I'll be good to go!
