Hi, guys. I'm doing well with my j-pouch, but just curious. I drink a good amount of caffeinated coffee every morning and there were a few comments I caught about how coffee/caffeine can affect output. Does anyone have input? Is decaffeinated coffee okay or different than caffeinated?

Does anyone have input? As opposed to output? Lol. Sorry in a funny mood
Like everything else i guess it's personal, some people will get agitated by it, others won't! I only tend to have 1 cup once a week, but it doesn't affect me as far as i notice. I suspect food in the gut and hydration levels would also affect how the coffee is buffered from the system.
I don't think coffee affects my output one way or the other. I couldn't tolerate it when I had a colon.
Coffee will give me more frequency especially right after I drink it in the morning. It'll also hurt my stomach but it never bothered me prior to my J Pouch. I feel ten times better now that I don't drink it commonly. I do get away with drinking it here and there though. It's almost like after repeatedly drinking it that my body realizes it doesn't like it and I feel worse after a few consecutive days of drinking it.
Thank you!
I use to drink a pot a day before I got UC. With my j-pouch I can handle one or two cups as long as eat something like toast with it or else I get fire bum and the runs.
I don't drink coffee much anymore, but I do drink soda. Soda makes me gassy and if I drink enough, I'll have to go to the bathroom a lot. The last time I drank coffee, I had to go the bathroom a lot.
