every morning! i'd be a zombie without it!! i would advise against drinking it later in the day, but you should be totally fine with a cup in the morning. i will also have a coke at lunch sometimes. doesn't bother me. give it a try and see how you adjust.
I just had my takedown on friday and I drank a cup today with no problems at all.
After my surgeries, I drank hot tea for a couple of months. Now I drink a couple cups of coffee per day. I tolerate coffee a bit better if I have a piece of toast with my morning cup of joe.
Coffee every morning, no problems. I do have a BM within the hour, but I personally look at that as a good thing.
I drank coffee in the hospital after takedown. I even took my own coffee mug so I didn't have to drink from those nasty plastic things. Key is to try it but not overdo it. Don't be afraid to try things. If it doesn't agree with you wait a week or so and try again. Remember you have to train your pouch to do something it wasn't meant to do. On foods, small portions to start and chew well. Be brave and enjoy your new life.
I wasn't able to tolerate coffee before the surgery, but I enjoy it every day now.
I avoided coffee with my loop ileo because it definitely made a bad dehydration situation worse, but I honestly don't notice any difference when I drink coffee now. Doesn't even make me have a BM like "regular" people. I limit to 1-2 cups per day because otherwise I can't sleep, but it doesn't cause any GI problems.
Like Judy said, just try it!

I drink a couple cups every morning and sometimes a cup in the afternoon with no problems! I have done so since takedown and it's never been an issue.
I drank coffee befor during and after. I'm a bear with out my coffee I had the ICU feeding me iced coffee on day 2 fresh out of a coma.
I couldn't drink coffee for a year after takedown. Every morning found me missing it so I slowly began adding it to my diet. Now I can drink it with no problems.
First and foremost, keep in mind that there is no universal list of "yes and no" foods for pouchers. We're all different.
In my case, I've always been more of a tea person (in fact I drank gallons of it before my surgery, and still do!), but I would enjoy the occasional morning coffee or dessert latte from time to time--until I figured out that coffee gave me almost instant diarrhea with both the ilestomy and again with the pouch. I haven't tried drinking it in years; I suppose I could always try a bit again as food tolerances change over time, but I think I've actually lost my taste for it over the years anyway. That being said, we are all different and there are many pouchers who drink coffee without issue. So my advice is to try it. It's the only way you'll know for sure whether or not it'll affect you. And that goes for pretty much any new food you might want to eat with your pouch. Remember, it's all trial and error.

I have had 2 Keurig cups of coffee (total 17 ounces, the max that fits in my mug) every morning for many years. I prefer dark roast coffees and I am on a rotation of 3 different ones that I like.
I only drink coffee in the morning and switch to herbal tea after noon, although occasionally I will get a decaf with lunch.

Same habit as CTBarrister! Love my Keurig and French or Italian roast. The stronger the better. My pouch is happy with its daily dose of coffee.
