Was sent to the ER yesterday by my family doctor as I was suffering from severe abdominal pain above the stoma, just underneath my rib cage. She thought I might have an abscess.
After ruling that, any other sort of infection, kidney problems, a broken rib, and about 50 other things out, the ER docs sent me home with a prescription for painkillers and a follow-up appointment next week with my surgeon.
At the 24-hour pharmacy the pharmacist filled the prescription, labeled everything, went through three pages of instructions on how to take the medication with me, and THEN informed me that I couldn't take it because it will interact with the anti-depressant I'm on and might kill me.
I went home, took two paracetemol, and went to sleep. Today, after 3 days of it, the pain is gone.
Classic.
