Cipro and Pouchitis

I think everyone is individual. Some don't respond, others respond very well.

I haven't taken Cipro, but I just had my first course ever of Flagyl for Pouchitis. My symptoms were raging and untreated for 13 years (misdiagnosed). After 1 pill/first 8 hours, I was feeling like a new person. After the second pill/first 16 hours, I was virtually symptom free.

I just stopped taking it after three weeks and have been consistently at 4-6 BM's from day one, down from 10-20/day. Now I hope it stays that way and doesn't become chronic.

That is AWESOME! So glad that it made such an improvement for you. I'm hoping that this will help my symptoms-have loved my pouch until the past couple of days when it's been a pain. I still love it....just a teensy bit less. Life is good!

For me cipro at 500 mg x2 Usually kicks in within three days. Hopefully you get relief soon.

I usually notice a positive change within 48 hours....taken it 3 times for pouchitis (all confirmed with a scope)

Well, good news-been taking the Cipro for 24 hours and have already had a noticeable change. The urgency has decreased dramatically and I am feeling SO MUCH BETTER!

i took Cipro for years, treating pouchitis, now ive just been diagnosed with c.difficile, because of the cipro, just stating, be carefull.
