Has anyone tried only Cipro or only one antibiotic at a time for pouchitis and not doubled it up with another antibiotic like Flagyl? Was it successful?

Cipro alone worked great for me for about 6 years. I would have preferred to rotate between several antibiotics, but Cipro was the only single one that did the trick. I think it’s always better to use one medication rather than two if it works well.
I can't do Flagyl due to the fact is makes me nauseous. I am usually given Levofloxacin for pouchitis. So far it works well for me.
Thanks both. I actually use Levofloaxcin vs Cipro, but I really only tried Cipro once. I think sometimes my pouchitis gets too out of hand and I really need to with Flagyl and Levofloxacin, Levaquin. However, I'm hoping this is a mild case or just leftover from my last bout a few weeks ago, and can be fixed with just Levaquin this time.
Cipro works well for me. I have used it for 14 years. I hate using antibiotics so this really is the only one I will take unless I have some dangerous disease. Nowadays, 95% of the time, I only have to take two doses and I am cleared up. Lickity split.
