My GI said that there is a fair chance that I might have Chrons Colitis/Indeterminite Colitis but he is not 100% sure. He said I can still go ahead with the surgery and that the big centers will do the surgery, on a case by case basis, for Chrons colitis/Indeterminite colitis.

Did anyone go through with the Jpouch surgery with a Chrons Colitis or Indeterminite Colitis diagnosis? How was your post surgery outcome and results? Any issues/complications?

Would greatly appreciate hearing your story.

I've had great results in the eleven years since my pouch was constructed. Two surgeons turned me down, convinced that I had Crohn's. The evidence was conflicted, though, and the pathologists couldn't make a definitive diagnosis even when they had the whole colon to look at. I do have antibiotic-dependent pouchitis (not a rare circumstance), but I do great as long as I stay on Cipro.

When I made the decision to have the surgery, I new it might not work and it might not last, but I wanted to see if I could make it work. I've been very fortunate.
