Hey all,
I've been on humira and methotrexate since last October 2017. A last medical attempt before considering complete pouch removal. Unfortunately, not long after commencing Humira have developed chronic sinusitis. There is growing literature about this being correlated with anti TNFs but the proportion of people affected seem to be low - unfortunately looks like I am one of them. My GP also has a few patients with crohns in the same boat.
I have had a constant blocked nose for over 7 months. Nothing works to relieve it for more than 1 hour (I've tried everything - hayfever meds, saline rinses daily, steaming, decongestants ).
Its working to control the inflammatory arthritis, but not doing much for diverted pouch. I still have flares of cuffitis.
Its very tempting to try going off it, but my rheumy thinks if I go backward, it will be hard to regain where I am at with the arthritis.
Has anyone else tried going off anti tnfs? Were you able to get back to where you were within a reasonable time frame if you recommenced?

Surgery to remove the pouch is still in the back of my mind, but there are no guarantees it will resolve the arthritis, and enable me to get off the anti TNFs. any feedback really appreciated
