Hello, Mikeey.  Sometimes I eat quinoa flakes as my cereal. I just checked the box In my cupboard for information on carbs, protein, fiber, etc.  It says for 1/3 cup (uncooked) there are 150 calories; 1 g fat; 0 cholesterol; 29 g carbs; 3 g fibre; 0 sugar. You can add banana, berries, cinnamon, and have it hot. It's a change from oatmeal, or cold cereal. It's almost like cream of wheat, if you like that. Quinoa has carbs but is good for protein and fibre. Cooking is easy: 1/3 cup of flakes in bowl or mug, add 1/2 cup boiling water or favourite milk. Cover and wait 1 minute! Good luck!

I eat any and all cereals, with the only qualification being that I like the taste. Cheerios, Life, Special K, granola. I do avoid "sugar bomb" cereals, but not because of effect on my pouch, jst health reasons. I also eat fresh fruit every morning. Bananas, oranges, pineapple, blueberries, strawberries, kiwi fruit, you name it. No juice (too high in glycemic index).

Oranges and pineapple? I wish I could too I would have to plan to stay at home all day long and have the pain relievers and buscopane ready by my side if I wanted to eat those fruits... How lucky you are!
