So I just read an article in the 'Ouest France' newspaper/internet site

https://www.ouest-france.fr/sa...e-l-intestin-5662412

on a new 'healing cheese' into which they modified/introduced an inflammation healing bacteria.

So, apparently, this cheese is supposed to both prevent and heal IBD and Crohns...who'd'a'thunk?

It can also help with the side effects of Chemo.

Clinical trials started in 2015 on 'human patients' and many industrial cheese producers are interested in buying the patent...

So, for all of us who have been deprived cheese due to our disease, now we can 'take' out cheese to heal it!

Updates to follow...

I believe that it will go through much faster...it is not a drug or treatment but a 'food source' that contains the necessary 4 bacteria to help the gut heal itself...so why not...I will keep you all up to date.

Who knows, maybe you could fly to France and get both a vacation and cure at the same time????

I just got back home a few hours ago, and my gut just woke me up, so I had some time to translate this article :-) :

“Crohn’s Disease - they are working on a cheese that heals the intestines”

“Researchers in Brittany (northwest France) have developed an Emmental-type product that could change the lives of patients suffering from colitis or Crohn's disease. A patent has been filed, and tests are underway at the University Hospital of Rennes.”

“Specialists at the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INRA) of Rennes  have developed a cheese that has the power to prevent, but also to relieve inflammatory diseases of the bowel such as Crohn's disease, reports Le Parisien this Tuesday, April 3.
The scientists’ work, in collaboration with the Scientific Laboratory of Egg and Dairy Technology, has identified and isolated three strains of bacteria. These are known not only for their anti-inflammatory action, but also for causing fermentation, which creates holes in cheese.”

Emmental as a remedy

“Gwenaël Jan, research director at INRA, describes the experiments: ‘We asked a manufacturer to make us an Emmental cheese from the three selected strains’. Tests were performed on mice. They showed that this cheese slowed down and prevented pathologies. But also ‘it could lessen the side effects of chemotherapy’, the research adds.
A patent has been filed and manufacturers are already interested in the manufacturing of this ‘healing food.’ Since 2015, a clinical trial is being conducted with patients at Rennes University Hospital. What now remains to be done, according to scientists, is to find the funding needed to validate their work.”
