Hey All,
So most of you have seen me on these forums for the past couple of years and I've documented my journey through UC and now as I deal with the j-pouch. Anyways, I was watching the Connecticut Nightly News tonight and one of the reports kind of stuck with me. There's a young couple in East Haven, CT that are trying to adopt. The reason they are trying to adopt is because Crystal was advised against kids after battling UC and going through surgery (I'm assuming she had a J-Pouch done, they didn't go too in-depth on that) and now want to adopt. Unfortunately, the costs for adoption could reach an upwards of $30,000!
Anyways, I felt compelled to adopt. As someone who has an 18-month old daughter and another daughter due in December I would never want anyone to not be able to share in the joy that is being a parent. As a male the disease didn't take that away from me and I don't want it to take it away from this couple.
I don't know if this is against forum rules to post their GoFundMe page but I figured I'd take the chance. I don't know this couple and they have no knowledge of this post, I just felt compelled to help. Below is the link, if you cannot donate please feel free to pass around via Facebook or something. I'll post this on HealingWell.com as well.
As always, thanks again for this community it has been an awesome place for me to feel not so alone when I was battling the disease.
