I recently stumbled upon the website of YourRad, a prominent supplier of K-Pouch and Urostomy catheters in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Here's an excerpt from the website:

"The Medena catheter for continent ileostomy was originally developed by the company AstraTech together with surgeons and stoma nurses at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden at the point of time when surgeon and professor Nils G Kock developed the surgical procedure later known as Kock Pouch. The Swedish company YourRad took over the manufacturing of the Medena ileostomy catheters in 2022 to ensure that people across the world living with a continent ileal pouch (Kock Pouch) would get continued access to the products."

this could help stoma nurses explain to potential k and bcir patients. it doesn't fill in the pro and con details, but that's why we help each other on this site!

btw, i use a fr 34, which is denser, as he explains. it enables me to enlarge the holes. be well, jan
