Can you have Pouchitis even if scope says pouch looks ok? | The J-Pouch Group

Separate from my other string, I am just wondering - can you have pouchitis without it showing on a scope? All of my symptoms feel like pouchitis. Pain/pressure in my bottom, lower stomach pain, night time incontinence etc. Just curious if that's possible.

It does seem to be possible, or at least pouchitis symptoms are sometimes resolved by a course of antibiotics even though the scope was normal.

Anything is possible. Is your doctor going to prescribe antibiotics???

I am on maintenance Cipro. He want to try Augmentin now.

When maintenance Cipro stopped working for me after about 6 years I got very good results from adding Flagyl. OTOH one drug is better than two, all other things being equal, so I hope the Augmentin works for you.

Okay if that does not work, there is always Remicade as a possibly option.
