Does anyone know if it's possible to get worms (threadworm/pinworm) if you have a j-pouch?

Why not? I never thought about it but why not? I guess that if you eat unwashed fruits or veggies, uncooked meats or don't wash your hands after whatever you could...I guess Jan is the best one to tell us (or Scott).

Most of the pinworm life cycle is in the small intestine, so I'd expect J-pouchers to be as prone to infection as folks with colons. I wouldn't make the diagnosis based on itching alone, though, since seepage and fungal infections can also cause itching.
The way to diagnose pinworms is to put a strip of scotch tape over your anal opening and at night when they crawl out they get stuck to the tape. Take one of those in to your pcp.
