I’m not aware of any specific interaction between Augmentin and Imodium.  Sometimes antibiotics can cause a J-poucher’s stool to be more formed, so it’s best to pay attention to the possibility that you might not need as much Imodium while on Augmentin.

Well, now that would truly be something haha. Fingers crossed. Thank you for all your information. Much appreciated.

I would say yes. When I was on bactrim for 2 months last year, taking Imodium had no side effects and continued to do its job.

as a side note, when I was once on augmentin for several days and it wrecked my GI system, it was the Imodium that calmed things down. Not saying that will happen to you, but I just wanted to mention it.

Thanks! Saw a post where someone said Augmentin made their stool thick, so I am praying for that. Worst case I got imodium.

How are your sibo now and do you do anything to remain in remission/sibo free? (I believe you were the one who cleared it when treating a UTI, correct?).

Hopefully 2 weeks will be enough for me. A sibo expert, Dr Preet Khangura, says even 5 days of Augmentin can clear hydrogen sulfide sibo and if it works you will notice within a few days, so that is reassuring.

My SIBO was best described as having BMs and gas that smelled liked horse manure. Even Gasx could not control it. It was that nasty.😲

i still have food intolerances and IPS just like the good old days pre UC when I had IBS.

Spicy food and too many nuts can really send Mr. Pouch into a hissy fit and make me crazy for about 36 hours.
