Can Cipro cause bursitis? | The J-Pouch Group

A couple weeks ago, I had a horrible flare of bursitis (inflammation) in my shoulder, and I lost full range of motion. I had never had this diagnosed before this week since this was my first MRI. I've had chronic shoulder issues for probably 13 years so it didn't strike me as anything new until I couldn't move my arm...that was crazy. My doctor seems fairly certain that this is not drug-induced and that the tendonitis that Cipro can cause is a totally different issue. I just wanted to get others thoughts on this since I've never had this happen before I started Cipro. I'm on it about every two months.

No, I sincerely doubt it, since bursitis is a different sort of inflammation, although it can and does occur with tendonitis. I have tendonitis all the time in all sorts of joints, so I would not know if I had Cipro side effects or not. I guess it is a good thing I don't need it.
