Welcome to the world of jpouchers....the butt burn is perfectly normal and to be expected. There are several good ointments that can be used to help with this...one I like is Boudreaux Butt paste..external use only. I've also seen recommended use of premoistened wipes and lots of sitz baths to help. Just a suggestion but maybe talk to your GI surgeon about some kind of reflux mex like nexium or protonix....not for reflux but simply to help neutralize the stomach acids that you are passing. Also metamucil to help bulk things up. Check the other discussion areas as this is a pretty common post surgery issue for everyone and there are lots of good suggestions out there....main thing to remember is take it easy, watch what you eat and take your time trying new foods. My pouch is 36 year old and it still throws me a curve ball every once in a while. Align is a good probiotic to take on a daily basis and to help with your dietary stuff, Ensure Clear is good for a daily supplement. Good luck and welcome to the party! Its a long road but so worth it!
