Brand new seton. What to do?

As of noon today I am the proud owner of a shiney new seton. Never having had one I am clueless and have a few questions...

Do I have to go back to the operating room to have it removed?

How long does it stay in?

Sitz baths until it comes out?

Any handy tricks of the trade would be appreciated. I have had many I&D’s of abscesses in the past two years but never a seton. I’m hoping that if it helps the healing process I won’t get another abscess there again.
