Hey guys. Just got out of the hospital after a 5 day stay due to a partial bowel obstruction. I've had a couple before but nothing this serious where I had to be hospitalized. After 12 hours of trying every possible thing I could think of to try and loosen the blockage I realized it was getting no where and the pain started radiating all throughout my digestive system which it never had before so I knew something was wrong. I had to call an ambulance to bring me to the hospital. I laid in a hospital bed for 2 days straight in agonizing pain waiting for this obstruction to let loose. I must say the pain was right up there with my surgical pains. I'm glad I had this site to give me the information on when it's time to make the decision to go to the hospital. Anyway my question for anyone who has had this terrible experience is what different things have you done post obstruction to avoid any future incidents? I have decided to drink alot more fluids throughout my meals now instead of waiting until after I'm done eating. The extra bathroom trips are worth it to me now. I also chew food until it disintegrates in my mouth. Are there any other tips anyone else has that I could try? Also have you seen that after having these obstructions that it has helped break up the scar tissue a little? Thanks.
