There are a bunch of things worth trying that have been written about here. I'd suggest a search of the site, perhaps for the word "night" or "nighttime," as a start. Poke around and experiment with what helps you from the many ideas posted on this forum.

A couple of basics: I take Lomotil only at bedtime, and that seems to help me. I use Metamucil/Konsyl at dinner time.

I've been having more activity at night lately too, and man am I a bear because of it! I also notice that sleeping on one side makes me feel like I have to go more, but for me it's when I'm on my left side. I try to not eat anything after 9pm, but that doesn't always make a difference. Sometimes I stretch and/or meditate before bed and I do tend to sleep more soundly when I do so, but it's not a guarantee. People w/out bowel issues keep telling me to take sleeping pills and I'm like "yeah, I'm afraid if I sleep through what my body wants to do, it's gonna do it anyway..."

Like Scott said, if you search around the site you'll find lots of suggestions. I think it's really promising you're doing well during the day, fingers crossed your nights quiet down soon!

bederyparis...if this is a change from your normal routine (had you been sleeping mostly through the night in the past 4 months?)...then i would suspect it could be a bout of pouchitis that you can quickly get treated.  however, if it's been like this for the last 4 months with only 6BMs during the day and always getting up at night like this, i would try some of the other poster's tips.  every 45 minutes, however, in my opinion, especially at night, would make me lean toward pouchitis.

Ok, then perhaps that's not it.  I agree with reading all the other posts.  Lots of tips for nighttime issues.  My pouchitis issues started 6 weeks post take down.  I went from sleeping throught the night to being up every hour.  I started antibiotics a couple days later, and it fixed everything.  Unfortunately for me, I have to manage chronic pouchitis.
