hello guys! need your help

it has been one yr now after my ileostomy closure. i developed severe vomiting and wound infection after my primary surgery of collectomy which resulted in severe weight loss. i lost 15 kg in one month and it came down to 48 kg. vomiting and wound infection settled but left me devastated. all my muscle mass is gone and i could not even walk for 15 minutes in a stretch. i need to take meat to regain my muscle mass but whenever it take meat or protein in any form my stool frequency shoots up from 10 per day to more than 15 per day and i started having blood along with motion/stools, be it egg or chicken or mutton. i have also tried protein supplements like beneprotein or ensure but they also results in loose motions which produce further exhaustion. This is not the only problem I am intolerent to milk products (lactose) and wheat(gluten) as well. I couldn't take any spices. My meal options have really narrowed down to very selective food items which is severely hampering my recovery. The problem of milk, wheat and wheat intolerance was there even before collectomy. But I was able to cope somewhat because the number of washroom trips were not high but after collectomy it become unbearable upon taking protein and wheat. I do not know what problem my intestines has developed. Because what I have read so far UC does not produce such picture. Sometimes I think that was my diagnosis right. However I have had biopsies at least thrice before surgery and every biopsy report had same diagnosis. Is it multiple food allergies which I am suffering from or what else. I am totally clueless. My surgeon has asked me to get ileoscopy done which I am reluctant. I just do not want to undergo painful procedures again.

Anyone on the forum who has same issue

Anyone who can advise me on this issue.

Allergy to essentially all animal proteins is pretty rare. Pouchitis is very common. What also seems more likely is something more in line with pancreatic insuffiency, pancreatitis, or something similar, which is interferring with your digestion. Perhaps you have gallbladder issues, which is very common. I would have the endoscopy to rule out pouchitis or other inflammatory issues in your pouch, then seriously look at pancreas/gallbladder issues. Also, celiac disease could be a factor.

Bottom line, you need to find out what is causing the intolerance, not avoid the nutrition your body needs.

I hope you get some answers.
