What do most people with J-Pouch take for their blood pressure. I just dont want to start taking a med that causes problem with my j-pouch. Anyone have experience with Amlodipine or Verapamil?

I am on amlodipine and valsartin. No problems

I think I started with amlodipine but then switched to lisinopril maybe a decade ago...didn't have issues with either. recently added hydrochlorothiazide. again...never have had issues. good luck. knock on wood. I've always wished treatment for pouch complications were as effective as BP meds...but oh well...we go with what we have.

Yes, I take 5mgs/day of Novasc (amlodipine) for 2 yrs. I probably will switch meds soon, cuz it causes excessive lower leg edema on me.
