So I wrote a post about my daughter
Having intermitten bleeding. She had a
Scope and the surgeon said everything
Looked pretty healthy and took some biopsies.
He said the astomosis site needed dialated
and did that during the procedure. He said he thought that maybe that was the problem.
We received the results and there was
Mild colitis in the cuff and some eosinphilic
Cells (not sure what these are) in the pouch but nothing else.
No signs of Crohns, no fissures, no hematomas and no signs of a major infection.
He said he didn't feel that she needed to
Be treated with any meds. Our GI will
Look over the biopsies next week when
She returns from vacation. Any ideas
On why she had blood again today? We are getting frustrated with the bleeding and where it is coming from.

The bleeding could still be from the stricture.

The finding of eosinophils is not very telling. Ordinarily, it could imply active IBD, but with an ileal pouch, it is just an indicator of inflammation. With the stricture, she'd have some fecal stasis/retention and that would contribute to inflammation. It does not mean she has Crohn's or chronic pouchitis. Bottom line, this finding can be simply incidental (something that is noted, but of little to no significance).

So the dr put her on Proctofoam
to help with the mild cuffitis.
She started to bleed more so they said
to stop. Then the GI looked over her
biopsies and said they are going to put
her on Cipro and possibly a different
suppository. Her knees have been hurting
her again and she hasn't had that since
before her colecotomy. I don't understand
why the Cipro and why her knees are hurting again? Do you get knee pain with mild cuffitis and eosinophils? Does his mean she
has pouchitis? The surgeon said everything looked pretty healthy and the only thing that came back in the pouch was the eosinophils.
