Had rectal bleeding after taking meloxicam for a tkr.  Now appears to be pouchitis along with it.

Bleeding has stopped,  but pouchitis remains.  Will Flagyl and prednisone,  sulfasalazine take care of it.

Doc is out of country for two weeks, fill in unavailable for same period.   I have the meds in my stash.

Thanks,

Mark

I’m not aware of an authoritative answer to this. If it happened to me I think I might go straight to a steroid enema, perhaps budesonide or cortenema, to try to calm down the inflammation. Perhaps you could get a prescription from an Urgent Care, if you lucked out with the practitioner you got. There’s really no one covering for your doctor?
