Hello All,

I have posted a handful of times over the past few months. Normally, in a panic hoping for a miraculous tidbit of information that will cure me of whatever awful J-pouch related issue arises. The majority of my problems over the last few months have been bleeding. Every since my j pouch creation, I've had bleeding. At first it was just some blood mixed into the standard j pouch healing mucous, and then after my take down blood always mixed in with whatever comes out.

I had a handful of scopes in the office with my surgeon, and had been diagnosed with pouchitis. Antibiotics helped (cipro), for the most part with some of the cramping, but bleeding never stopped. I then was scoped and told I had a stricture. I was put under for a dilation, and told that bleeding would probably stop... it didn't.

I just had a scope with my old GI doctor from when I had UC. I was told that I have like three clusters of staples that are refusing to heal and are surrounded with inflammation and ulcers. He didn't understand why the staples would have been placed in a cluster. It was for instance like someone had taken a stapler and stapled the same area over and over at different angles. The friend I was with asked if this would require another surgery, and my  GI seemed unsure and said he would get with his team and contact me with further instruction. There was also pretty nasty irritation and ulcers around my anastamosis site. I was prescribed steroid foam, and today I got the instructions to start taking Lialda again..

Have any of you been placed back on Lialda with a pouch? Something just feels very off about this to me. I'm scared that if my j pouch staples are that messed up it will be another large scale surgery...

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
