Hi my name is Peggy and I have had a J-Pouch for 20 years. I have been on this site for many years, but I haven't posted in a long time, because I haven't had any problems with my pouch, until!!! In 2016 when my Dr scoped my pouch he found ulcers and I was treated with a course of Canasa. I didn't have any symptoms of ulcers when he found them. I was just scoped again in December and he said everything was clean and good. Yesterday I received a call from his office telline me that the Biospy showed and ulcer(s). I see him on Monday and I'm trying not to panic over this call, but my question is can the pouch be clean and a biospy show ulcers?

This is a little strange. Ulcers tend to be visible at the time of the scoping. It’s possible to have inflammation that can only be seen under the microscope, and dysplasia normally behaves that way, but an ulcer is an open sore. Perhaps they were very tiny ulcers?
