can user of bidets tell me why it is so good..does it just clean you after each b.m or is there more to it..

does it have to be the heavy duty one to really work that is major hookup..

thinking maybe after all these years might be something to consider as i always have to use some cream i get itching mostly as my problem..

I thought the same thing Rebecca. I had a hand held sprayer soon after my take down and around 6 months ago got a bidet seat, after 3 years and wish I'd had it from the beginning!

It cleans better as the water is warm and there are different kinds of sprays to use. One which is like an enema. I think this has helped with my cuffitis as when it feels like I can't get my pouch to completely empty and I start going a lot I use this setting. It gets the last bit out, cuts down on the number of BM's and therefor the irritation internally and externally. I couldn't do that with my hand held sprayer.

It also has a dryer, which I didn't think I would use at all but I do. I still use TP but not as much. This helps cut down the butt burn too. I am getting more exercise as I go upstairs to use my bidet instead of using the half bathroom on the main floor to Wink

All that needed to be done was install an electrical outlet where there wasn't one by the toilet. It was a bit difficult as the master bathroom is on the 2nd floor and the wiring had to go down through the dining room wall to the basement. It probably wouldn't have been so difficult if my husband, who is an engineer, didn't have to do everything like this himself Smiler

The water source is the same as the water that goes into the toilet's water tank. Mine was on sale at Coco bidet for $329 total, no shipping. This is around $150 less than they were selling for 3.5 years ago. There are other brands but this was the best deal he found at the time we were buying it.

I think you can't go wrong buying one. It makes me feel so much cleaner.
I bought a low-end bidet and still love it. http://www.amazon.com/LUXE-Bid...r=8-5&keywords=bidet.

Easy to attach, detach. Definitely cuts down on butt burn - I miss it sooo much when away from home. The water comes directly from the tank (cool water, which has been no problem for me). I agree with TE Marie - it can act somewhat like an enema if you choose, helps to really clear things out when help is needed in that area.

Personally, I think all potential and current j-pouch patients should be advised by their doctors/surgeons to purchase a bidet!
I have the less than $200 biobidet 3000, easy peasy hook up, no electric even needed. It changed my life! I had leakage, butt burn, and chronic anal pain of about a 4/10 all the time. The bidet keeps me clean, keeps those tissues from getting inflamed due to little leakages, and I no longer have chronic pain at all! No more butt burn, no more creams, no more wipes. It has EASILY paid for itself just in saving money on TP, wipes, creams alone. WILL NEVER live without it, and MISS IT TERRIBLY when I travel.

ALl bidets are not created equal. I like BB because it has an "enema" function, which is what I need. The ones with low water pressure help a little, but not like the high pressure ones, at least for me.
omg..everyone i have been a silly gal not getting one i can see..but where to begin with necessary features for my issues which are like everyone else who answered.,non electric if possible..i understand there are those..willing to spend what i have to but would like easy install.. not to awful looking!

please let me know which one to get with actual name model if possible..

{edit}I just found this second one today while answering your question at a different location on the website. It looks like an awesome deal at $299 delivered. We paid $329 delivered for a similar one. It was elongated seat and the one posted first above. {edit}

This is like the one I got around 6 months ago that requires electricity. It heats up the water and feels better than the sprayer I had before, which is below.

This is similar to the one I had before I got the electrical one at the top. All cold water and you hold it with your hand to spray.
