Recently, along with all of my other abdominal adhesion pains, my Belly Button has started hurting or is sore all the time. Anyone else have this problem? Take down was 20 months ago and my last surgery was on 7/5/11 for an incisional hernia. All 3 surgeries were through the same vertical incision - including my BB.

I had an abscess that grew between surgeries that was cut out during take down. I had a hole under my BB that was 2"L x 2"D x 1"W - my husband just had to measure it. I packed it several times a day until it healed and it left a 2nd BB under my original one.

Then I had an incisional hernia surgery and they opened up the very same incision for the 3rd time. He got rid of my 2nd BB and refashioned my original one. I've had a lot of trauma all around my BB. It's not an abscess or hernia. Those were good ideas but I've been there done them. I just took the prescription pill, Fluconazole, for a yeast infection and it's not red or anything, looks normal except for the scars next to and under it.

The pain is worse when I put on a pair of pants or touch it, but it's there all the time. I just developed this recently and I'm supposed to be getting rid of pain and not adding it.

Thanks for your help. It's probably one of those things that I have to get use to. Now that I look back at all the BB trauma I've had, I'm probably lucky that it doesn't hurt more. It is such a little thing I shouldn't have even posted about it. I wear my night gowns all day except when someone comes over or when I have to leave the house. It's more of a topical pain than my crampy, achy, burning, sharp internal every day pains. Not to mention my fibromyalgia all over muscle and numbness pains.

I don't think they've developed belly button pain medication yet but I've tried Emu oil, body lotion etc. so I'll quit complaining and keep wearing my loose clothing.
