Hi everyone!

I’ve been dealing with some AWFUL gas. I’m talking like explosive machine gun fart gas. And it’s been happening constantly since my takedown.

the only time it stopped is when I was put on a combo of neomycin and xifaxan for SIBO, but my gas came back as soon as I stopped the antibiotics (and those had their own horrible side effects).

I’ve done low FODMAP. I’ve eliminated gluten and dairy. I’ve had allergy testing and it was all negative. I’ve done Gas X and peppermint and enzymes. Nothing.

anyone have any other ideas? I’m at a total loss and I’d really like to not be farting 100+ times a day.

Long time ago my doctor recommended Phazyme gas pills, they come is the highest dose of 500 mg now. He also told me you can take them multiple  times a day. It’s the only thing that works me.

I just had bad gas for the last couple of weeks, the worst I’ve ever had in 43 years and it was because of the probiotic I was taking. Hopefully you figure out what’s causing yours.
You may also want to try the elimination diet, you stop eating and then start introducing one food at a time this way, you can see if it’s food that’s causing the issue.

When I was treated for SIBO I was on the antibiotic for a few months. I don’t know how long your treatment was, but perhaps it was incomplete? The other advice (to follow basic gas-reducing measures) is also appropriate, but you may already be doing it. In addition it’s worth avoiding swallowing air (slower eating and drinking, etc.).

I want to add I did all the above &  it never seems to go away totally. Some days better than others. I find it very difficult to be with others like vacation, day trips. Going to the bathroom with your girlfriends & sharing rooms together is over. Can not do.  If u have a partner already & they went through this with you it's not so embarrassing. Who out there is now single for whatever reason after pouch & how do u ever get past this with someone new. Only this group would understand & give a honest reply.

If a person really loves you for you then it will not matter to them. A pouch is apart of us and our disease is apart of us. They should love every part of us, if not- then they are not the right person
