Hey Guys and Gals,

I just went back to my ostomy after a crazy battle with fistulas. I plan on keeping it for a while now because it has given me much better quality of life so with the summer coming and me just getting into a new relationship I was wondering if anyone that uses any accessories for swimming and sex and other activities. I've been on a couple websites searching and I see different items but I would like to know if there is something someone is using that seems to work really well. Thanks in advance for your help. God Bless and Happy Pouching!!

What worked for my self was the ConvaTec Esteem Synergy Two peice appliance, which consist of a self adhesive flange/base which firmly adheres to the abdomen with a colostomy bag affixed to it.

I took to using a self adhesive closed bag without filter as I found the bags with the filter created staining through my clothes.

The Esteem Synergy appliance is also available with a plastic coupling, which clicks the colostomy bag and the flange together but due to a couple of issues I experienced, I felt more comfortable and secure using the self adhesive coupling.

I decided to use a closed bag rather than a drainable one partially due to appearance; the Esteem Synergy closed bags look more attractive, they are also available in three sizes; one which is really compact and ideal when participating in action under the sheets; as it doesn't hang down or drag against the top of the thigh, especially when containing output.

When applying the flange/base over my Stoma and onto my abdomen, I also used a Salts Stoma Collar, which as the name suggest, it's a collar which creates a seal around the Stoma and prevents Stoma output from leaking under the flange/base and onto the abdomen.

I also inserted two Morform Sachets into the colostomy bag just prior to use; the Morform sachets would kinda thicken/solidify the Stoma output within the colostomy bag, which was more comfortable than what felt like a bag of liquid against my abdomen.

During my time with the Stoma, I tried all kinds of Stoma appliances from various manufacturers and the only products from ConvaTec met my needs and expectations.

I also wear high waist unisex boxer shorts from Comfizz, which are similar to a cycling short and tight fitting, especially across the lower abdomen, which keeps the colostomy bag flat and close to the body, which helps conceal it under clothing.

Although the Comfizz boxers are a snug fit, they are extremely comfortable, I guess they contain Lycra as the boxers stretch to conform with movement, in fact, they are so confortable I still wear them, although now I have a J pouch (I fold the high waist over); I also wear the Comfizz standard waist boxers too.

Well. Hate to say welcome. But I did.

I don't do anything special.

I wear a two piece drainable.

I wear a wrap and keep it empty as to keep it flat against my body. That's it.   Nothing I do is special.  I have a physical job. Move twist bend. Have to be careful lifting. Pulling and pushing.  I don't want to cause any damage.  But I do all he above with no problems.  No extra stuff. Just wear the appliance and a wrap.

Yes. I wear the wrap for intimate sessions.

Good luck.

I've never wore a wrap; at the time I wasnt even aware of them.

During intimacy, I opted for the small or medium closed bag, never used large one, either commando, wearing boxers or whatever I was wearing at the time, I guess a wrap just around the lower abdomen would be ideal; no interference or spoiling the mood.

A wrap just keeps it out of sight. As for wearing it otherwise I like it cause it keeps the top flat. I am really skinny and wear form fitting shirts and low rise jeans. I'm a male. Low-rise jeans as to keep the waist below the stoma. More comfortable.   So it works well. If I'm just hanging at the house I usually don't wear it much.   I would like them a little more snug.  Next time I get one I'll get a smaller size. But for just a piece of fabric and elastic they are expensive. 30 bucks a pop. Ten or fifteen bucks would be more reasonable. But. I think some of these places take advantage of our situation. Just my thoughts.

Good luck.

Richard.

P. S.

Not an advertisement but Levi's 527's are low and fit well if you like to wear jeans.

I don't actually use the pocket in the wrap. The wrap is wide enough to just hold it down.
