Athletic support for J- pouchers

I'm supposed to wear an "abdominal binder". I don't have a jpouch right now (currently an ostomy) but my abdominal wall has been destroyed because of surgeries. It's basically a long stretchy piece of fabric with velcro on end. You tighten it to where you need it.

I'm guessing that's what he's talking about?

They have at least one size available at CVS. Larger sizes can be purchased through medical supply companies. If you need something smaller than the CVS size, you can just trim the length.

In a pinch, maybe a back support that does not have straps over the shoulders-just a 6 or 8 inch wide strap over the abdomen/ lower back with velcro for attachment. Any home improvement store should have them.

Thanks- I will check out both options. I'm petite size so I would likely have to cut it. I heard there is a wrap at Dicks Sporting Goods supposedly but when I look or ask about it no one seems to know what I'm talking about. And I'm sorry to hear about the abdominal wall- I always wonder how much our bodies can tolerate. For me, this complex fistula business has literally been a pain in my ass- pun intended but we keep moving on & hope for the best. Thanks for the advice.

I'll get some plastic surgery in a year or so once I have a break from surgeries and lose some weight. It will be considered "medically necessary" as it's pretty severe so it will likely be covered by insurance.
