Just wondered if anyone has tried juicing with fruits and vegetables? I love fruits and vegetables but they are really hard on my system and are hard to digest. I want to be healthier but it's like a double edged sword. The more fruits and vegetable I eat the more issues I have with bowel obstructions and I know I am not absorbing all the nutrients since I don't break them down. I want to try juicing but I am afraid it will go straight through me and I won't absorb any nutrients. just wondering if anyone has tried and what the results were. Thanks!

I juice daily. It doesn't go straight through me and I have a BCIR. It sometimes bulks up depending on what veggies I use and if you strain any of the foam/extra bits on top before drinking. But this is just my experience.

My usual is spinach, apple, blueberry, cucumber (always add one in, makes the glass fuller), celery, lemon and sometimes a bit of mint.

Just made one this afternoon. Cucumber, celery, and Apple. Simple, but delicious. I started about a month ago, I was fed up not feeling well, tired, hurting etc... I thi k it has helped. I don't juice daily, I do it when I feel up to it, about every other day or so. Try it and try different produce... Some make me feel ugly and other combinations are good.

I used to juice a lot..especially the years before my pouch when I was so sick and then once I got the pouch...I can't say that I ever felt an energy boost but it did help a bit...now that I am more pouch stable, I blend instead of juicing...I throw all of my fruits or veggies in the blender, add ice and make some very tasty smoothies...I usually make a fruit salad every night for hubby but don't really eat it, just nibble on the berries...but I make lots and blend the leftovers then next mornings after my workouts...works just as well, doesn't take as much effort and I get all of the vitimins, minerals and the fiber without the blockages.

I juice every day...I am 5 months out from my take down and felt I needed the extra nutrients. I do spinach, celery, red or yellow bell peppers, kale,carrots,parsley(2x`s weekly)cucumber. Right now if I put fruit in, my pouch can`t tolerate the fructose and it goes right thru. I will try the fruit again later as I get further down the road.

I met with a nutritionist this week who confirmed juicing is a great way for new pouchers like me to get veggies without the fiber. But he wisely advised to only drink very small amounts at a time, like 1-2 oz or whatever yield you get from a typical meal's serving of veggies. For example, if a typical side of carrots with dinner equals 2 whole carrots, the only drink the juice produced from 2 carrots.

I have a really excellent Omega Vert masticating juicer. It took me months to get over they psychological hurdle of learning how to use it because it looked complicated. But it's super easy and takes minutes.
